About this deal

This post is my full review of our new car seat from Cozy N Safe, the Excalibur. You can read my first impressions blog post here which also has my first Cozy N Safe video. I don’t think I’d change anything about it. Except maybe the design. It would be good if it came in a range of bright colours and patterns but that’s just my preference. Unless you can be absolutely certain of a second-hand car seat’s history, because it comes from a family member or a friend, it is best not to use one. Why? What do we love about it? It’s easy to think ‘seen one, seen them all’ when it comes to car seats but while the bold, snazzy print and quirky design features of my old seat initially held more appeal than the under-stated look of the Excalibur, it turns out the Excalibur is just much more versatile, and exponentially more comfortable.

Fitting the Excalibur car seat is super simple, using the Isofix connection points with top-tether and/or by the vehicle’s 3 point seat belt. Aided with clear indicators and guides. The Excalibur is compatible with most makes and models of cars. The materials are good quality too and look like they’ll be easy to clean. Amazingly, we’ve not had any spills yet but have treated greasy toddler fingers on the leathery area which we just wiped off.

There’s a world of difference between a child dangling awkwardly out of her car seat straps during a nap in the car, and one snoozing softly, nestled in comfort. If it cannot be made secure it is possible that the seat is not suitable for your car. Is it safe for my child to travel in the front seat?

We would strongly recommend changing your car seat if it has been involved in an accident. Even if you cannot see any visible damages, there may be hidden, internal damages. Your insurance company should assist in getting a replacement seat. However ROSPA have a very helpful letter below that might help. We couldn’t find a Cozy N Safe Excalibur ADAC rating but the car seat is ECE R44.04 Safety Certified. Cozy N Safe Excalibur Car Compatibility They will also be uncomfortable. If the child is too small, they may slip under the seat belt or harness in a crash. Is it a problem if my child car seat is a bit loose after I have fitted it? After you’ve figured out how to best install it, it’s actually really simple and straightforward using either the Isofix or the seat belt. If your car has a top tether bit in the boot, you can possibly use that too. If the seat cannot be held securely, it can be thrown forwards in a crash and the child may be injured. An adjustable headrest offers an amazing 14 positions and removable inserts ensures the best fit for your growing child no matter their height. All the covers are made from luxurious materials which can be removed easily for cleaning at 30°C. Cozy N Safe Excalibur Graphite Car Seat Features: If you cannot adjust the harness to fit correctly, you should change the car seat. Is it safe to use a second hand car seat? Anything that allows a three-year-old to indulge their love of doing things independently is nothing short of brilliant in my book. The soft padding for younger babies is excellent, as is the side impact protection which made our daughter feel very comfortable. She struggled to stay awake in the seat. She’s almost three years old and sits in the seat upright. When she falls asleep, we recline the car seat for extra comfort. What are the pros of using the Cozy N Safe Excalibur Car Seat?
